Morgans Hotel Group debuts the Delano in Marrakech, LVMH confirms Cheval Blanc in the Maldives, and Four Seasons Hotels launch in Baku and Toronto
LVMH Hotel Management has confirmed the opening of its new Maison in the Maldives in 2013, under the Cheval Blanc brand that debuted in Courchevel in 2006. This follows the debut of seasonal property White 1921, which opened for the European Summer on Place des Lices, Saint-Tropez. The Maldives property will open on the island of Randheli, on Noonu Atoll, with 46 villas.
The Sofitel So Bangkok hotel – its second ‘So’ destination – has unveiled a new executive lounge designed by French couturier Christian Lacroix. Located on the 25th floor of the 238-room hotel, the Club Signature lounge is dedicated to premium guests staying in ‘So Club’ rooms and higher categories, providing check-in, breakfast and tea services, cocktails in the evening and a library corner with complimentary use of iPad’s.
Hotel Isle de France, St Barthélemy
Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France is the latest luxury hotel from Oetker Collection, the owner of Le Bristol in Paris, Hotel Eden Cap Roc in Cap d’Antibes and the more recent Palais Namaskar in Marrakech. Located on Flamands Bay, the property incorporates 39 rooms, suites and villas individually decorated by U.K. designer Penny Morrison, with plans to introduce 12 renovated garden bungalows and refurbish public areas in the main building and reception.

Four Seasons Hotel, Baku
Four Seasons Hotel Baku is the latest addition to the luxury hotel scene in Azerbaijan, introducing 171 rooms to the country’s capital. Located on the waterfront, the property features four food and beverage outlets, including the rooftop Kaspia restaurant and bar, as well as eight meeting spaces and spa and hammam facilities for both men and women. The Segah Grand Ballroom can accommodate up to 500 people for a reception.

Park Hyatt, Chennai
The Park Hyatt Chennai is the 30th hotel in the Park Hyatt collection, featuring 201 guest rooms and suites at the gateway to Southern India. Rich travertine marble floors and plush hand-tufted rugs are luxuries found in each guestroom, along with polished marble bathrooms with deep-soak bathtubs. In addition, all suites feature exquisite, relaxing stone plunge tubs.
Delano Hotel, Marrakech
Morgans Hotel Group has debuted its Delano brand in Marrakech, in the centre of the Moroccan city’s Hivernage District. The group partnered with Jacques Garcia to create 71 guestrooms fashioned in rich marble, sumptuous velvet, and showcase the work of local artist Noureddine Daifallah. Currently the hotel offers three restaurants and the outdoor rooftop venue Sky Lounge, with an underground nightclub and pool deck bar to debut in 2013.

JW Marriott Essex House, New York
Marriott International has opened the JW Marriott Essex House New York – formerly known as Jumeirah Essex House – the brand’s first hotel in New York City. The 509-room property boasts sky-high views of Central Park and incorporates an expansive meeting space, a tranquil spa and fitness centre and an executive lounge to debut in 2013.

El Nido Resort, Pangulasian Island
El Nido Resort’s has debuted a collection of 42 villas on Pangulasian Island, seeking to blend elements of contemporary Filipino design with the Island’s natural surroundings. The architectural and interior design reduced site impact by using stilt foundations, integrating responsibly sourced local and natural materials, and maximizing natural lighting and ventilation to reduce energy consumption.

Conrad Algarve, Quinta do Lago
Conrad Hotels & Resorts has opened the Conrad Algarve, located in the Quinta do Lago resort in Portugal. The contemporary 154-guestroom hotel is spread over six floors, decorated with a Moorish influence by architectural firm Sigma, in collaboration with Portuguese interior designer, Miguel Cancio Martins, with features including bespoke artwork and lighting.
The Royal Begonia, Sanya
The Royal Begonia is the latest addition to The Luxury Collection by Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and marks the brand’s arrival in Sanya, located on the southern tropical island of Hainan. 142 luxuriously appointed guest rooms and 18 private villas occupy a 370-metre beachfront location on Haitang Bay, adorned with custom-designed furniture and a blend of European elegance and local inspiration.

The Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, owned by HRH Prince Al Waleed bin Talal’s Kingdom Holding Company, has been designed by architectsAlliance, and built by Menkes Construction Ltd with interior design by Yabu Pushelberg. Each of the 259 rooms feature the signature Four Seasons bed, complimentary wireless internet, an iPad and Nespresso machine, as well as access to a dedicated Guest Experience Manager.

Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square, Vilnius
Kempinski Hotels has launched its first property in the Baltic States, with the Kempinski Hotel Cathedral Square in the capital of Lithuania. The carefully restored heritage listed building offers 96 rooms and suites, each one of which has an individual character, featuring parquet floors, subtle lighting, fine fabrics, and bathrooms are similarly decorated with small mosaic tiles.
